Who Is Rob Barton?
Rob Barton is a single, music teacher who works also from home as a writer – a job that he can continue to do from a farm anywhere. He is in his early 50s and very healthy, having been a competitive martial artist well into his 30s and he also still performs as a musician at local folk music events, churches and marching bands. As a parent, he has raised three biological children, two step-children and a godson to adulthood. He spent much of his childhood and young adulthood living on and around farms in North Florida so he has experience with farming.
As a teacher, Rob has worked extensively with middle school and high school aged children with much of that time spent working with young people who have specific needs such as autism spectrum disorders. Parenting and family have always been the most important things in his life and this focus is motivated by a deep spirituality which connects to the land and world around him. Rob is an extreme extrovert who loves people and makes friends everywhere he goes.
Three adult sons, Paul, Bobby and Jeff, aged 28, 25 and 24 respectively are also committed to working along side of their father to make this project happen. Currently based in the Boston area where Rob still teaches; the search for a farm has focused on the more affordable small farms to be found in Southern Maine.
